Kaylen provides single-session and short-term counselling to youth, adults, individuals, and families. He draws upon client-centred, strengths-based, solution-focused, and anti-oppressive theories in the counselling relationship to help clients reach their goals and build resilience. Kaylen will complete his Bachelor of Social Work degree from Booth University College in October 2019, and is completing his final practicum placement at Rainbow Resource Centre. He has previously completed a practicum placement at the Life and Employability Enhancement Program (LEEP) for refugee youth, and has previously worked for Employment and Income Assistance, as a support worker for adults with disabilities, and as a children’s programming assistant and camp volunteer. As a social work practicum student at Rainbow Resource Centre, Kaylen works with the youth, education, and older adults programs to provide case management, education, and support to LGBT2SQ+ individuals and families.
