Joseph (they/them or he/him) is a white settler, transgender, non-disabled, Queer who lives and works in the territories of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Dakota, Dene, Métis, and Oji-Cree Nations. Rainbow Resource Centre is in Treaty 1 territory.

Joseph joined Rainbow Resource Centre in 2011 as a volunteer facilitating workshops about the impacts of homophobia in schools across Manitoba. In 2017, Joseph became the School Equity and Inclusion Coordinator, and in 2018 they were the Youth Programs Coordinator at Rainbow Resource Centre.

Today, as the Participant Support Coordinator, Joseph provides 2SLGBTQ+ and allied youth who attend the Youth Program with support through a harm-reduction, healing-centered, and trauma-informed framework. Joseph’s role is to connect youth with resources, help youth navigate systems, and make appropriate referrals for youth. Additionally, Joseph provides support to campers at Camp Aurora; a summer camp for 2SLGBTQ+ youth aged 14-19.

Joseph feels honoured to have the opportunity to continually learn alongside 2SLGBTQ+ youth in order to create meaningful change within our communities; such as fostering resiliency in our youth, celebrating their diverse identities, and honouring their identity exploration
