Drag Artist in Residence Shortlist!
We are thrilled to introduce our remarkable shortlist of three phenomenal drag artists who will bring their unique magic to Rainbow Resource Centre:
Cake is a bold and vibrant performer whose drag persona champions confidence and self-acceptance, particularly for those often marginalized in society. Known for her witty humor and dynamic performances, she blends upbeat pop anthems with haunting ballads that explore the complexities of identity. Cake's work is rooted in uplifting others who feel they exist on the fringes, providing a space where everyone can be seen and heard. Through her art, she aims to inspire those who may struggle with self-acceptance, offering a message of empowerment and resilience.
Lady Muse is a captivating embodiment of feminine energy and glamour, drawing inspiration from iconic musical divas like Dolly Parton, Judy Garland, and Lady Gaga. As a singer-entertainer, Lady Muse combines the art of drag with live music, aiming to connect deeply with audiences through storytelling and humor. Her performances celebrate queerness while educating audiences about the rich history of drag culture. With a mission to reflect the diverse experiences of her audience, Lady Muse creates an atmosphere of joy and empowerment that resonates with all who witness her artistry.
The Yellow Belle showcases a stunning aesthetic inspired by anime and vibrant colors. This proud non-binary performer captivates audiences with choreography, extravagant costumes, and makeup that shines brightly on stage. Drawing from influences like Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura, The Yellow Belle’s performances are a celebration of femininity that defies traditional gender norms. With an emphasis on inclusivity and self-expression, they invite audiences to embrace their true selves through the joy of drag.
