Tia Oberoi

Tia 2023

Tia Oberoi (they/them) is a lesbian who lives and works in the territories of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Dakota, Dene, Métis, and Oji-Cree Nations. Tia is a Registered Social Worker and holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Rights. They have trained in suicide prevention, conflict resolution, and harm reduction.

Tia works within a trauma-informed, person-centered, and anti-oppressive lens, and provides education, advocacy, and support to clients. Tia is proud to work with 2SLGBTQ+ youth to foster resiliency, connection, and growth.

Much of Tia’s work is to help youth navigate systems, access resources, and achieve their goals. Tia is passionate about supporting and uplifting the 2SLGBTQ+ community and hopes to help participants feel supported, seen, and heard.

Outside of work, Tia spends their time making art, doing yoga, and spending time outdoors.

Tia considers it a privilege to walk alongside 2SLGBTQ+ youth in their journeys and to support, participate in, and learn from the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
