Laura Tait

Laura (they/them/she/her) is a white settler queer person who lives and works on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Denes peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis people. Rainbow Resource Centre is located on Treaty 1 Territory.

Laura joined the Rainbow team in 2020 as the Older Adult Program Coordinator. They have a background working in the Manitoba small farm community, until recently co-owning and operating the project Heart Acres Farm. While working with the farm, Laura realized her knack for creating community connections of support and mutual aid. She worked alongside older adults during her time with the farm through their partnership with the Good Food Club, as well as during her time working with FortWhyte Farms.

They are thrilled to be working with the Rainbow team, offering support to and learning alongside 2SLGBTQ+ older adults. Her role includes connecting older adults with resources, facilitating peer-to-peer support, and creating spaces and opportunities to gather and foster meaningful connections and conversations.
