Edmund Machona

Edmund Is the Newcomer Program Coordinator. As an immigrant to Canada, Edmund uses his lived experience to build bridges and foster healing in the LGBT2SQ+ community. His role at Rainbow Resource Centre is to provide education and resources to organizations that serve newcomers. His mandate is to consult, develop, and implement equity policies that support the immigrant LGBT2SQ+ community. As an activist, Edmund is passionate about reclaiming our migration stories to foster inclusion of all diverse people. 

Edmund is an empathic facilitator and seasoned public speaker. He is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Bachelors of Arts: Psychology and is actively involved as a Human Rights Activist. He is passionate about creating opportunities for diverse communities who are making a home in Canada. Edmund self-identifies as artist, activist, and human. He has worked as an activist in the community for three years, challenging organizations to rethink the systemic injustices that are directed at LGBT2SQ+ people of colour.
